Too Big, Too Small, Just Right: Samsung's Galaxy S10 Proves More Durable Than its S10+ & S10e Counterparts

This week, Samsung introduced three new Galaxy S10 phones at various price points, and SquareTrade, an Allstate company and highly rated protection plan provider trusted by over 70 million customers, tested the all-glass designs to determine their durability against competitors and previous models.  

In a series of “DropBot” tests, SquareTrade found that all three of the S10 models are no match for concrete and crack on the first drop, just like the Galaxy S9 and iPhone X models. The Galaxy S10e was especially susceptible when dropped from six-feet on both its front and back. On the first face-down drop, its screen malfunctioned rendering it unusable. On its first back-down drop, it suffered a shattered camera lens and its flash stopped working. 

The Galaxy S10+ also shattered on single face-down and back-down drops. However, it continued to function—though loose glass made use somewhat perilous. The S10 performed best, cracking front and back after single face-down and back-down drops, but it remained completely functional.
